On Friday, February 9, 2018, Delaware Friends of Folk will present the next event in their 2017-18 Old State House concert series, inside the Old State House on The Green in Dover. The series is produced in cooperation with the First State Heritage Park and is supported by a grant from the Kent County Fund for the Arts. The concert is free and open to the public. The one hour performance will begin at 7:30 pm. Seating is limited.

This month’s show features Delaware-based singer songwriter Trini Lima. Melodic, passionate, powerful and intense—Trini is a solo, singer/songwriter as well as the founder and lead singer for her band Key of Red. Born in Madrid, Spain, and raised in the U.S., Trini has gained a loyal local following. Whether fronting Key of Red or playing solo, what sets her apart is her incredibly powerful and polished voice; dazzling in its versatility; from a whisper to a scream to a bluesy, throaty growl. Trini has been compared to Pat Benetar, Janis Joplin, Melissa Etheridge, and Lizzy Hale, among others.

Her original songs run the gamut from straight-ahead rock 'n roll, through blues-rock, neo-folk, new age and straight on to symphonic rock. Ranging in subject matter from quintessential "angry chick songs" in "Twisted" and "Done With You", the gothic vampire romance of "Demons and Doves", bleak despair with "Things Fall Apart" and "Doll", to the mysterious, delicate beauty of the aptly-named "Haunted", her songs are moving.

Adept with both electric and acoustic guitars, she brings the music ... soaring, melodic fantasy-scapes, earthy ballads, softly-told tales of tragedy and foot-stomping, raucous rock anthems.
